Some are insinuating that the protest was stage-managed by Governor Fayose.
On Friday, June 24,protesters, who were led by a coalition of society groups, took to the streetto express their disappointment with Governor Fayose’s inability to pay workers salary for several months.
There have been reports that Ekiti state civil servants are being owed five months salaries.
The governor been in the news for the very wrong reasons in the past few days, from his account being frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, to allegations of corruption against the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, and to the controversy trailing the source of hiselection funding.
However, the Ekiti state National Assembly caucus has toldthe EFCC and federal government to stop intimidating Fayose.
